Weekly, Monthly & Seasonal Pool Checklist
The recurring jobs that keep a pool clear, on one card.
Weekly
- Test pH and free chlorine (2–3x if hot or heavily used)
- Skim surface, empty skimmer and pump baskets
- Brush walls, steps, and dead spots
- Vacuum or run the robot
- Check water level (mid-skimmer)
- Adjust chemicals to target and log the dose
Monthly
- Test total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and CYA
- Check and clean the filter per its type
- Inspect the pump and equipment pad for leaks or noise
- Clean the salt cell if inspection shows scale (SWG pools)
Seasonal
- Open or close the pool for the season
- Deep-clean or replace filter media as needed
- Review equipment age and warranties
- Update your maintenance log / service history
