Is Skimmer a replacement hardware sensor for my pool?
No, Skimmer doesn't include a floating sensor or any hardware. It's built around fast manual entry: log a test strip or liquid test kit reading in a few taps, and Skimmer gives you the same balanced/drifting/out-of-range status a sensor used to calculate for you.
Do I have to test my water by hand now instead of using a sensor?
Yes, Skimmer works with whatever test method you already have, strips, liquid reagents, or a digital reader. What it replaces is the app and dashboard side, not the physical testing.
What happens to my data if Skimmer is ever discontinued?
Your data lives on your device and, if you enable it, your own iCloud account, not on a company server Skimmer controls. Even in a worst case, your readings stay on your phone.
Why did smart water monitors like Sutro and pHin shut down?
